JK & Kindergarten Ride
Annual Junior & Senior Kindergarten Ride Program
Tuesday, August 30th, 2016, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Prior to the start of the school year at the end of each summer, the Transportation Consortia of Wellington-Dufferin presents the Annual Junior and Senior Kindergarten Ride Program. This program allows first time riders and their families to learn and experience what riding the school bus is like for your child. This program is a family based program that is presented in a way to keep the interest of the children while teaching parents and children alike the different procedures needed to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all students who ride a school bus. This program is open to ALL children entering kindergarten, from those who will ride the bus to and from school to those who will be walking to school.
Ride Program Itinerary
-
Valuable information for parents regarding procedures to ensure such things as the safe loading and unloading of your child, the different "rules" of the school bus, and where you can obtain the information on your child's busing
-
Video for the children to watch on riding the school bus safely
-
Question and Answer session where parents and children are encouraged to ask questions and share what they have learned
-
Short ride on a school bus for the children and their families where they can practice the safety procedures they learned
The program is free. The registration details will be provided in May to newly registered children in the region entering the junior or senior kindergarten program.
